TiDi participated in the Ruvuma River Basin Project Inception Workshop, a vital step in launching a regional initiative to safeguard the Ruvuma River Basin and strengthen livelihoods of the communities that depend on it.

The workshop focused on:
✅ Environmental conservation and threat mitigation
✅ Strengthening community engagement & resource governance
✅ Promoting gender equality and inclusive decision-making
✅ Enhancing cross-border collaboration & policy harmonisation

Through dynamic sessions like stakeholder mapping, theory of change, and participatory discussions, key strategies were formed to shape a shared, sustainable vision for the basin.

The workshop concluded with a clear roadmap to develop and submit the full project proposal to the Global Environment Facility (GEF) by December 2024.
